Tinicum Township Police Department
Providing Professional Police Services In A Spirit of Cooperation And Partnership With The Community

Traffic and Local Ordinance Enforcement

You are encouraged to report speeding, careless driving, traffic hazards and noise disturbances to the police department.  Tinicum Township Police Officers patrol the approximately 95 miles of roads within our borders and respond to specific problems identified through data review and citizen concerns.  Additionally, the Tinicum Township Police Officers are authorized to enforce local ordinances passed by the Board of Supervisors to address various quality of life issues.

Traffic enforcement is targeted by reviewing crash data and resident complaints.

There are two officers trained in advanced traffic accident reconstruction methods to thoroughly investigate serious crashes.

The Tinicum Police Department participates in a regional enforcement effort to enforce truck violations, including overweight violations, and to remove unsafe commercial motor vehicles from our roadways.

Officers respond to citizen complaints concerning issues that create traffic hazards, such as overgrown bushes, that  create sight restrictions.

Officers routinely monitor the school zone at the

 Tinicum Elementary School.
